Objectives for conducting Activity
  • To build intellectual and aesthetic understanding of the craft and technique of theatre arts.
  • To develop language, communication skills and enhance artistic and creative abilities.
  • To equip students with key critical thinking skills, performance skills, speaking and writing skills, public speaking skills and teamwork.
  • To ensure expression and exploration of personal, cultural and social worlds through role and situation that engages, entertains and challenges.
Methodology
  • This workshop focussed on the use of 'Elements of Theatre' to make the teaching and learning process more effective and interesting.
  • Various dance, drama and art forms were demonstrated, mudras etc. were taught, small performances from students were expected and participation was ensured.
  • Training primarily focussed on psychological and realistic acting, with special attention on voice and body.
Outcome
  • Students learnt about various dance, drama and art forms, they got first-hand experience about various performance arts.
  • Through the workshop, students were imparted the knowledge of pronunciation, intonation as well as storytelling.
  • Language learning skills were strengthened through the use of drama and art in education.
  • Students learnt that the use of arts in education makes children more creative and imaginative through various co-curricular activities.
