Grammar lays the groundwork for effective communication. Just as an improperly configured telephone wire can cause static during a phone conversation, improper grammar can likewise affect the meaning and clarity of an intended message.
As it is rightly stated by Joan Didion "Grammar is a piano I play by ear. All I know about grammar is its power". And this is exactly what we have experienced in the past 20 sessions which began on 9th March till the 7th April 2021 of English Grammar Course Pro- Beginner to Advanced. Conducted by Dr Cerena D'cunha
She introduced each topic with clarity by explaining the importance, features and benefits of this course. We as newly budding teachers need to have a comprehensive knowledge of grammar that will enable us to facilitate the same. In the 40 hour course Dr Cerena did not only explain each topic thoroughly but also used different tools like Powerpoint, Google Docs and Google Form which made it easy for the 50 of us to understand. The course began with a Pre Test to understand which topic needs special emphasis. We were given google forms and an assignment of the topic covered for that day, the truth being told our brains needed a little dusting.
Each session has helped us learn how systematic and well thought a class should be conducted too.
The entire course was extremely well put with the help of Explanatory videos, e-materials, assignments, discussion forums and quizzes which was like a garnish over simple food.
I remember being taught " Ram runs" but with technology Ram was actually shown running which made it fun to learn. The course wound up with a final assessment where we were certified pupils of English grammar Course.
Grammar is an important tool that if used correctly it creates clarity giving it meaning and magic on a simple page. Grammar not only teaches us how to write correctly but also how to speak. Grammar is the heart of the English language
