Dr. Cerena Aurin D’Cunha is a post-graduate of the University of Mumbai and has served as a Teacher Educator at St. Teresa’s Institute of Education since 2007. She was awarded the doctoral degree in Education by the University of Mumbai for her study on ‘The Self-Evaluation of Teacher Performance of Student-Teachers in relation with their Self-Efficacy and Motivation’. She is keenly interested in motivating students and ensure their emotional, social and personal wellbeing. She has attended several seminars, conferences and workshop on diverse themes and also presented research papers in national and international seminars.
She is a recognized Post Graduate teacher of the University of Mumbai who also conducts lectures for the Students of M.A. in Education of IDOL, University of Mumbai at St. Teresa’s Institute of Education (PCP Centre).
She has been a part of several syllabus revision committees for Computers in Education, Learning and Teaching, Childhood and Growing up and English Method.
She has also been the teacher in-charge of Extension Education, and heads the English Club at St. Teresa’s Institute of Education, which organizes various activities and competitions round the year. To hone the English Language skills of her students, she conducts the English Grammar Course: ‘English Grammar Pro – Beginner to Advanced’ as a part of the activities conducted by the English Club.
As a teacher, she believes in being enthusiastic and committed to teaching; ensuring creativity and novelty in her teaching practices. She is zealous about making her lectures interesting and enjoyable for students to create valuable learning experiences.
An immense interest in dance and cultural activities has led her to be the in-charge of the Co-Curricular activities committee for over a decade. She has also judged various competitions related to co-curricular activities. She is a dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to social and academic growth and development of every student.
